New Revised Medical Curriculum

The program allows Charité to offer students a course that is founded on new teaching and learning concepts, as well as on the need for practical medical experience.

Dentistry

Charité's dentistry degree program comprises ten semesters and a licensing examination (Staatsexamen). The program is divided into pre-clinical (5 semesters) and clinical dentistry (5 semesters). As part of their clinical training, students will be supervised by professionals, and actively involved in the treatment of patients. The course options offered range from microscopic anatomy to surgical techniques.

Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences

Bachelor program in Applied Midwifery Science

At the beginning of the winter semester 2021/2022, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin will launch a new Bachelor program in Applied Midwifery Science. The course will offer a total of 60 places in its first year.

Master's Degree Programs at Charité

Public Health*

The joint, consecutive Master of Science in Public Health is a research-oriented degree program in which Alice Salomon Hochschule, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin each contribute their respective expertise. Around 60 students are enrolled every year in the program. It starts every winter semester.

Health Professions Education

In the Master Health Professions Education, students acquire educational competencies to take on responsibility for teaching and other pedagogical tasks in health professions education. The master's degree qualifies students to teach in schools for health professionals, in relevant study programs or in clinical settings in Berlin and Brandenburg (recognition in some other German states is possible). Students can also qualify to take over tasks for conducting educational research in the health professions.

Applied Epidemiology*

The Master's program is completed full-time over two years. Its modules are part of the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) training, a two-year competency based training program at the Robert Koch Institute.

Epidemiology*

The Master of Science in Epidemiology is an post-graduate master’s program that offers students an advanced interdisciplinary education to focus their methodological knowledge and expand their competencies in research. The program starts every winter semester.

International Health

The discipline of International Health deals with poverty-related health problems in low- and middle-income countries. The study of International Health combines public health, epidemiology, tropical medicine, economics, management sciences and further relevant subjects. The postgraduate study programme offers a master's degree and two diploma courses as well as ten modules that can be completed individually to suit each student's interests and abilities.

Medical Neurosciences

The MSc program provides a structured education in basic neuroscience to medical students and trains students of the life sciences in medical topics and approaches concerning the central and peripheral nervous system. Besides in depth theoretical training, the MSc program emphasizes state-of-the art practical lab experience, preparing graduates for continued research as PhD students. The program is fully accredited and subject to regular quality assurance measures.

Molecular Medicine

Charité offers an international two-year Master’s Program in Molecular Medicine. The Berlin, Germany academic setting of basic and medical sciences provides our students with a unique environment for acquiring scientific knowledge and skills. Our theoretical courses, scientific skills and laboratory Training prepare the students for their PhD's and future careers in molecular sciences. We annually recruit up to 20 students from all over the world.

Courses marked with a * are offered by the Berlin School of Public Health (BSPH). The BSPH is a training center that is dedicated to the field of Public Health. Since its inception, it has been offering research and practice-oriented Master's Degree programs. In 2016 a consecutive Master Program Public Health has been launched.
The BSPH was established at Charité in 2007, and was the result of a joint venture with Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin. Since 2015, the BSPH has been jointly managed by Charité, Technische Universität Berlin and Alice-Salomon Hochschule.
