Administrative units that form part of the Office of the Vice Dean for Teaching and Learning

The Office of the Vice Dean for Teaching and Learning comprises the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Curriculum Management, and the Dieter Scheffner Fachzentrum (a research center dedicated to medical teaching and evidence-based education research).

The Office of Student Affairs is responsible for all administrative processes, from admissions through enrollment to the overall organization of degree programs.

Staff at the Dieter Scheffner Fachzentrum provide scientific expertise and support in the development of course contents and structure.

Both of these Offices work with the Vice Dean's Office and Faculty teaching staff to improve overall study conditions, and to develop and refine courses and teaching. They work with internal and external partners to ensure Charité remains an attractive choice, and that its high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.

A decentralized system of subject-based Teaching and Learning coordinators provides Teaching and Learning support across the more than 100 Departments and Institutes that make up Charité. Apart from coordinating teaching and learning within their specific facilities, these coordinators also act as a local point of contact for students.

Studying in an international and intercultural environment

The Faculty is particularly active in promoting and supporting international and intercultural student exchange programs. Charité International Cooperation (ChIC) is a central point of contact for all international students, and for students hoping to study abroad. ChIC offers a variety of support programs to international students. This is because we know and understand the particular challenges of studying abroad.
