External funding support
Support in managing external research funding (third-party funding) is provided by the External Funding Support team and is available to all Charité members of staff. Services offered include setting up external funding accounts, providing support in ensuring funding management complies with mandated funder requirements, budgetary control, drawing down funding from public funding bodies, issuing expenditure statements and assisting with audits.

At Charité, project management support services are closely interlinked with the team providing support with external funding applications, as well as Finance and Procurement, and Human Resources.
The External Funding Support team represents the official link to public funding bodies. In the area of project-specific accounting in particular, the team works in close cooperation with the relevant funding bodies, including the EU, federal government, DFG and various foundations.
