Prof. Dr. Michael Schütz receives Queensland University of Technology's highest honor

Prof. Dr. Michael Schütz, Managing Director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery at CharitéUniversitätsmedizin Berlin, has been awarded the title of 'Doctor of the University (honoris causa)'.

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, bestowed this honor in recognition of his contribution to trauma research and the significant improvements achieved in trauma care performance in Queensland. Michael Schütz spent 12 years as the Director of Trauma at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, and became the first Chair of the Queensland Statewide Trauma Clinical Network. Michael Schütz, who is the first surgeon to ever receive this honorary doctorate, received his award during a formal degree ceremony. The official speech by Prof. Peter Coaldrake, Vice-Chancellor of Queensland University of Technology, was followed by the formal award of the degree certificate. The ceremony was attended by the German ambassador, Dr. Anna Prinz, the Chancellor of QUT, Tim Fairfax AC, and the Chancellor of Griffith University, Henry Smerdon AM.
