Modul „Health Service Research“ – INDEED

Topic TF 6 – Use and Alliance of Routine Data

Spokeperson: Prof. Dr. Martin Möckel (Berlin, Charité)

You are here:

Utilization and trans-sectoral patterns of care for patients in emergency care structures in Germany (INDEED)

Aim of the project is to investigate the utilization of ambulatory health care services before and after an emergency department visit. INDEED will investigate frequencies and influencing factors for an adequate, inadequate and avoidable utilization of emergency care structures. Furthermore influence factors for a worsening of disease will be addressed.

Methodological approach:

Routine data of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) on ambulatory health care utilization will be linked to clinical data from 15 to 20 emergency departments.

Potential of transfer:

The results of this project will be analyzed under various perspectives to identify strategic points for the improvement and the avoidance of emergency department services. The results will provide a basis for the adaption of ambulatory and emergency care structures to ensure their adequacy under the consideration of actual patient needs.
