Working at Charité
Doctors and nursing staff from over 40 countries throughout the world staff Charité. If you want to be part of this international team, take a look at the requirements and opportunities.
You are here:
Together as one
You grew up in Germany but have a different cultural background and speak also other languages? Then, we are looking for people just like you. As the biggest medical university in Germany and situated in a multicultural city, we tend to take care of a great diversity of patients that don´t have a good command - or have a limited command - of the German language. Help us take care of these patients: be personable, conscious of other cultures and be technically excellent.
How do you find the right position for you?
The allocation of medical placements take place according to a decentralized system at the clinics of the Charité. Apply directly to the clinics or take a look at job advertisements on the job portal. You can of course send unsolicited applications per email. For more information visit “Karriere an der Charité”.
Formal requirements to keep in mind
An offer of employment is only possible if you meet the foreign legal requirements. They differ according to your country of origin and nationality. Here, you can find detailed information in our guide for international doctors.
A license to practice as a doctor is a fundamental condition for every medical procedure. You can find more information in the guide for international doctors or through the website of the LAGeSo – the Federal Office for Health and Social Affairs -.
German knowledge – medical jargon at C1 level – isn´t just of interest for you or for your patients. It is also a fundamental requirement for medical procedures. At the Charité International Academy, we offer preparation courses for the Medical Licensing Examination.
For information about examinations, please go to Informationsblatt des LAGeSo – leaflet of the federal office for Health and Social Affairs.
