Approximately 60 of our departments have a specialist clinical focus and offer specialist treatment methods. This allows us to provide effective treatment even in the most complex cases.
With almost 60 specialty clinics and several locations, the Charité offers a plethora of treatments and methods aimed at handling all types of cases, including difficult ones. In order to best bring together our medical competencies, the clinics are organized into Charité Centers. This structure, as well as the associated interdisciplinary environment, benefits our patients, ensuring that they receive optimal care. To learn more about what happens in the individual clinics, please click on Quality report or visit the homepage of the respective Department.
Inpatient admissions will follow different procedures depending on where in Charité you are being admitted:
On Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK), there is no centralized Inpatient Patients Admissions Office. Upon entering the Department, please make your way to the relevant ward, where members of our staff will complete the necessary steps and formalities.
On Campus Charité Mitte (CCM), where ongoing construction work has resulted in the new Charité Campus-Klinik (CCK) temporarily replacing the Main Ward Building, we have provided a Central Admissions Office to serve both the CCK and the Department of Dermatology. If you are being admitted as an inpatient, please make your way to the Central Admissions Office, which is situated at No. 9 Luisenstraße, and is open between 6:30 am and 3:30 pm. Upon your arrival, members of our staff will complete all of the necessary steps and formalities. Patients scheduled for admission to wards other than those at the Charité Campus-Klinik and Department of Dermatology should make their way directly to the relevant ward.
On Campus Benjamin Franklin (CBF), all of the wards (with the exception of Urology) are served by a Central Inpatient Admissions Office. If you are being admitted as an inpatient, please make your way to the Central Admissions Office, which is situated in the entrance lobby near the entrance at Klingsorstraße and is open between 6:15 am and 2:30 pm. If your are scheduled for admission to our Urology Ward (S10B), please go to the Reception area of the Urology Outpatients Department on Level 5 of the Ward Building 1 (Bettenhaus 1), which can be reached via elevators 19 and 20.
In order to be admitted as an inpatient, please bring the following documentation:
- Your insurance card (and, where appropriate, confirmation of co-payment exemption),
- Current and valid photo ID,
- Inpatient referral letter,
- Confirmation that your insurance will cover the cost of your treatment, or a hospital referral letter stamped/approved by your insurance provider
Should you have questions regarding any of the above, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff from the relevant Admissions Office.
