In the Newsweek rankings of the world’s best hospitals (produced in conjunction with consumer data company Statista), Charité came sixth out of a total of 1,000.
According to Newsweek and Statista, this makes Charité the best hospital in Europe.
Two other European hospitals made the top ten: Sweden's Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset came seventh and Switzerland’s Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois came tenth. Leading the rankings at number 1 is the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Performance indicators taken into account include recommendations from medical professionals and hospital staff as well as patient survey results.
