How do I borrow items?
For patients:
- Select the desired media/items.
- When you borrow items, we will record your name, ward and room number. You will then be issued with a library card, which you can also use to gain access to our electronic services.
- You may keep any borrowed items for the duration of your hospital stay.
You may pre-order/reserve items by telephone or email. We will then deliver your reading materials to your ward.
For Charité members of staff:
- Please register as a user.
- Select the desired media/items.
- For members of staff, the maximum loan period is 4 weeks. You can use your login data to check our catalog for items currently on loan to you, request up to two extensions of the loan period and pre-order or reserve items. You can also use your login details to gain access to our electronic media via Lisando.online. Both websites - catalog and Lisando - are only available in German.
How do I return items?
When and how can I return books?
On CBF: Books and other borrowed items may be returned at any time using the book return box next to the Patient Library entrance.
On CCM: Books and other borrowed items may be returned via the white book return box situated in the common room. Alternatively, please hand your borrowed items to a member of our nursing staff.
