Protecting the environment
Measures aimed at combating climate change and environmental degradation form an integral part of our efforts to create a sustainable university hospital. We would therefore ask that you sort and dispose of your waste items (e.g., newspapers, yogurt pots, and banana skins) by using the separate labeled containers provided for paper, packaging, and general waste. When in your room, small items of packaging waste (such as empty yogurt pots or fruit punnets) can disposed of by placing them on your food tray before it is collected and returned to the kitchen.
By separating different types of waste, and by using water and electricity responsibly, you are conserving valuable resources and helping us to combat climate change. For more information on Charité’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact, please visit the organization’s german web pages on environmental sustainability.

Easily recognizable due to the light green coats they wear, this group of mainly female volunteers will run small errands, accompany patients on walks, and listen to their fears and concerns.
