The appointment of physicians is within the purview of individual departments. Please apply directly to the relevant department(s) or browse our current vacancies (only in German) for a suitable position. Please feel free to submit a speculative application by email. What criteria must be met by international physicians?
In order to enter into a working relationship, applicants must fulfill the legal provisions pertaining to aliens and immigration. These will differ depending on country of origin (nationality). For detailed information on this and related matters, please see our Handbook for International Physicians (Handbuch für internationale Ärzte).
In Germany, all physicians must obtain licensure before being permitted to practice medical acts in Germany. For additional information, please see our Handbook for International Physicians and/or visit the website of the Berlin State Department for Health and Social Affairs (LAGeSo) (only in German).
A sufficient command of the German language (level C1 or higher) is certainly in your own interest and that of your patients; it is also a formal prerequisite to practicing medicine. Charité International Academy offers language courses to prepare you for the German language exam. For information on the exam itself, please refer to the LAGeSo Information leaflet (only in German).
