Campus Charité Mitte
The history of Charité dates back to the year 1710. At that time the plague posed an imminent threat, and King Frederick I of Prussia had a quarantine hospital built outside the city gates. After the plague spared the city, the building was used during the next 17 years as a hospice for destitute old people, a workhouse for beggars, and a maternity home for unmarried mothers. Read more
There are two location maps to help find your way around Campus Charité Mitte and the surrounding area: a campus map and a local area map. Once inside the buildings, please follow the directional signage provided.
Please note: The campus uses its own system of campus addresses (e.g. Virchowweg 10). These are represented by numbers on the location map. Please use the map key to identify the Departments and Institutes you are looking for.
Entrances to the campus are marked with letters of the alphabet:
- A - Main Entrance Charitéplatz 1 (for pedestrians, cars, and deliveries)
- B - Labor Ward / Luisenstraße 65
- C - Entrance to the main campus/Luisenstraße 9 (for pedestrians only).
