The history of Charité dates back to the year 1710.  At that time the plague posed an imminent threat, and King Frederick I of Prussia had a quarantine hospital built outside the city gates.  After the plague spared the city, the building was used during the next 17 years as a hospice for destitute old people, a workhouse for beggars, and a maternity home for unmarried mothers. Sustainable mobility on the go

Plan of ground CCM
Mobility hubs are marked by "J"

In October 2021, Berlin’s public transport provider ‘Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG)’ joined forces with Charité to launch a cross-campus Jelbi network. Interested individuals can choose from
a range of transport sharing options. At ‘Jelbi stations’, network users can rent and return bicycles, electric scooters and electric motorcycles. Jelbi stations also offer flexible (no fixed pick-up point) and station-based (fixed pick-up point) car sharing.

On Campus Charité Mitte you will find the following ‘mobility hubs’: Hufelandweg 20, Virchowweg 6, Rahel-Hirsch-Weg 5. For further information, please visit www.jelbi.de/charite.
