| Selenium 2006 International Symposium
25 to 30th July 2006 Madison, Wisconsin USA
The 8th International Symposium on Selenium in Biology and Medicine will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, on July 25 to July 30th, 2006, at the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union located on Lake Mendota. The Union and its lakeside terrace are an idyllic setting that has come to be known and loved by all. The campus is linked to the Wisconsin State Capitol by a mile of shops, restaurants and bars on State Street mall. Selenium 2006 will consist of oral and poster presentations in all areas of Selenium biology and medicine, ranging from genomics & RNA structure/function to human & animal nutrition and to cancer prevention, toxicology & environmental chemistry. Join us in Madison with 250 scientists from all over the world for 5 days of total immersion in Selenium! Program. An international organizing committee has been formed, twelve noted selenium researchers have agreed to chair sessions, and about 30 speakers have agreed to present. Meeting abstracts. Abstracts can be submitted on-line via the conference website, with a deadline of April 30, 2006. Participants will need to register for the conference as part of abstract submission Registration. Registration and lodging reservations will be handled on-line via the conference website, with a payment deadline of May 30, 2006. Registration fees for Faculty are projected to be $375, which will include abstract book, reception, lunches, breaks and banquet. Student Registration is $200 and Guest Registration, $165. Lodging. Estimated lodging price ranges: University Housing including breakfast, $325/single occupancy (5 night package) and $220/per person/double occupancy (5 night package); Best Western Campus Inn or Howard Johnson Plaza, $62-110/night; Edgewater, $150/night [all prices are at 2005 prices for single occupancy, and subject to change]. It is hoped that we will be able to offer a limited number of Young Investigator Awards to cover registration expenses for young investigators. More details will be available in January 2006.
