The Department of Neuropathology at the Charité is, as the only university neuropathology institution in Berlin and Brandenburg, the institution with the widest range of samples: 6500 samples from around 2500 patients are processed and analysed every year by ten neuropathologists, six of whom are highly experienced consultants in neuropathology. Additionally, we also carry out around 900 brain and spinal cord autopsies annually.
