Brigit Ramsingh studied Biology at Carleton University in Ottawa (1996-2000), followed by a Master of Arts (M.A.) at the University of Toronto's Institute for the History & Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST) where she is also completing her PhD. Her research focuses on the history of international food safety standards in the post-war era, with particular emphasis on the United Nation´s Codex Alimentarius Commission and food standards in the European Union. Since September 2009 she joined the staff at the Charité Institut für Geschichte der Medizin and is the Program Coordinator for the European Science Foundation project: Standard drugs and drugs standard: a comparative historical study of pharmaceutical in the 20th century - DRUGS
