Research topics

In our Inner Ear Molecular Biology Laboratory we try to understand what the nature of inner ear damage is during the onset of tinnitus.

We study following topics:

  • Mechanism behind cell death and survival in a damaged inner ear
  • The functional role of ion channels in inner ear cells
  • Expression and regulation of inner ear-specific genes on mRNA and protein level
  • The role of hypoxia in function and survival of inner ear tissues
  • Mechanism of auditory signal transduction
