International Health

The interdisiplinary field International Heath focuses on health problems arising from conditions of poverty in third world countries. Areas of focus include health care systems, epidemiology and tropical medicine as well as the economics and management side of health care. The course is integrated into the tropEd network and its mission statement is to train graduates to contribute towards the world wide improvement of health care provision in disadvantaged population groups.

Duration of Course 12 months (full time), up to 48 months (part time) for students who start the MScIH with at least 210 ECTS credit points. 18 months (full time), up to 60 months (part time) for students who start the MScIH with 180 ECTS credit points.

Fees 8,500 – 15,000 EUR (approx.. 10,000 EUR if only Berlin modules are attended) for students who start the MScIH with at least 210 ECTS credit points. 11,500 – 18,000 EUR for students who start the MScIH with 180 ECTS credit points.

Admission Prerequisites

  • Completion of a three year Bachelor course (180 ECTS credit points) in a health care related field
  • One of the following English qualifications: TOEFL (550/213/80) or IELTS (6) or DAAD (A or B in all categories)
  • Applicants with health-related professional experience in low or middle income countries will be preferentially admitted.
