Consumer Health Care

The post-graduate course Consumer Health Care focuses on political, legal, economic and communicative aspects of health care in which the consumer (patient) and his/her needs play a central role. The course will confer pharmacological, medical, epidemiological, economic, legal and communication-theoretical knowledge with the aim of understanding the complex correlations and changes in the health care system, thus enabling a cross-sectional approach.
A key feature of the course is its interdisiplinary approach which encourages discussion of  differing view points and differing degrees of experience when considering the issues at hand. As a result the course forms a platform for consensus-building between partners involved in health care. On a didactic level an integrative brokering of knowledge forms the basis of teaching methods thus  enhancing and furthering skills learnt at graduate level. On completion of this course particpants receive a qualifiction that prepares them for leading directive positions.

Title Master of Science
Target group Persons working in a health care field, (e.g. pharmaceutical workers, health insurance company employees or persons working in consulting, large organizations or even beginners in the field), preferably Medicine or Pharmacy graduates or graduates from other consumer health care fields (e.g. economics, law, nutritional-health, nursing, biology, chemistry, sociology, psychology, social- pedagogics etc.)
Duration of Course 3 semesters + 1 semester for the doctorate
