As the Charité does not have a central counseling service for students, please refer directly to the homepage of the particular study progam. Here you will also find contact information and office hours.
The
office of student affairs is your contact address for course registration, re-registration, study transfer, internships (Praktische Jahr, "PJ") and those issues specific to foreign students. Appointments can be made during regular office hours.
The Charité has
medical libraries at all four campi. In addition, Charité students have access to the university libraries of the
Freie Universität Berlin and the
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin which have current textbooks and periodicals in medicine. Finally, many institutes on the Campus Benjamin Franklin have their own
technical libraries.
The medical faculty of the Charité is constantly developing its innovative teaching and studying concepts within the study programs. As such, multimedia learning materials and methods (eLearning) have become increasingly important instruments. The
learning plattform blackboard aims to facilitate eLearning into the daily teaching and learning structures. eLearning is implemented at all points where value on students is placed. We offer our students new possibilities to study individually and flexibly. Multimedia teaching materials are didactically prepared using photos, films, sounds, and texts, can be individually accessed at any time, and support the learning process both before and after the presention or seminar. here to find more information on our eLearning offers.
The teaching and studying methods of eLearning are supported by the research project
ELWIS-MED eLearning-Wissensvermittlung in der Medizin. Financed by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), the Vice-dean for Studies and Teaching is in charge of this project. The goal is to more quickly eLearning into the faculty offerings.
The medical libraries also offer a comprehensive selection of electronic study materials. For example, the
virtual pocket library contains numerous medical e-books, digital reference books, and databases.
The Progress Test Medicine is a type of examination offered at the Humboldt Universität in order to provide students with regular feedback about their knowledge development, to promote continual learning and interdisciplinary thinking, and to explore whether an alternative to the current examiniation system is sensible. The Progress Test is a tailored testing procedure, designed on an individual basis.
We want you to complete your medical studies at our faculty as successfully as possible. To support you in this, medical personnel from the areas clinic, research and teaching as well as from other areas of medicine will assist you as mentors starting in the winter semester 2009/10. More…
