What to bring

National identity card or Passport. Please make sure that both documents are valid for the entire duration of your intended stay in Germany.
Visa (only for non-EC citizens!) - Students from non-EC countries (except Switzerland, Norway and Iceland) must apply for a visa. The required certification that you are going to study in Berlin can be obtained from our office (Ms. Cernitori). A 3-month tourist visa is NOT sufficient, you have to apply for a "Visum für Studienzwecke" at the German Embassy in your home country. (for addresses see www.auswaertiges-amt.de)
Proof of health insurance (European health insurance card)
Proof of registration at your home university (i.e. student card)
International Student Card (helpful, but not required)

Please bear in mind that living expenses in Berlin might be higher than in your home country. Students need to have at least 700 euros per month!

Please come and see us immediately after your arrival (mind our office hours!), so we can discuss the further proceedings like registration at the university, police registration, etc.
