The duration of the medical curriculum in Germany is 12 semesters (6 years). It consists of three parts: the pre-clinical part (2 years), a 3-year clinical part, and the "Practical Year", which is entirely spent on the ward.

Important dates:
- Deadline for ERASMUS applications: 1st June for both winter and summer term
- Winter term 2012/13: 15th October 2012 to 15. February 2013.
