Welcome to the office of the Dean of Student Affairs´ (Teaching and Learning)

The office of the Dean of Student Affairs´ (Teaching and Learning) is the central institution of the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin Medical Faculty responsible for the organization of all study courses and programmes.

Departments under the Juristriction of the Dean of Student Affairs

Our Student Affairs Office and the Dieter Scheffner Center for Medical Teaching and Educational Research are two departments run by the Dean of Student Affairs´ Office.

The Students Affairs Office is responsible for the administration of medical school admissions, matriculation and course organization.
The Dieter Scheffner Centre for Medical Education and Evidence Based Training Research plays a vital role in the drafting and scientific guidance of training research.

Together with the Dean of Student Affairs and faculty tutors these two institutions constantly strive towards the improvement of study conditions and the further development of teaching quality. Both internally and extrenally the Dean of Student Affairs and his colleages aim to make studying at the Charité as attractive as possible whilst maintaining the highest standards when it comes to teaching excellence.

Specialized contact persons at over 100 Charité hospitals and clinics are responsible for teaching coordination and the organization of our administration offices. They coordinate teaching in the relevant institutions and act as decentralized points of reference for students.

Studying in an International and Intercultural Atmosphere

Our faculty is particularly concerned with the promotion of intercultural student exchanges and encouraging international students to study at the Charité. The central offices for international students or for students wishing to organize an exchange abroad is the undefinedCharitè International Cooperation (ChIC). ChIC offers numerous forms of assistance to students coming to Berlin from abroad for whom orientaion in a foreign land and culture can be particularly challenging.
