Technology Transfer

Our technology transfer supports Charité researchers from all of our clinics and institutes by providing advice and support regarding commercial evaluation and implementation of inventions and patents. Services offered related to laws related to inventions (employer/employee rights, etc.) patents, licenses, and utilization include:

  • Information and advice for inventors from the Charité regarding all aspects of protection and utilization of inventions and software
  • Evaluation of inventions in terms of patentability and utilization
  • Patent and utilization strategy development
  • Registration of intellectual/industrial property rights (in conjunction with patent attorneys)
  • Marketing and licensing of patents and copyrights
  • Facilitation of contact between companies and technology providers
  • Creation and negotiation of license contracts/agreements
  • Monitoring of license agreements and remittance of revenues from licenses to inventors

Expert support for the evaluation of inventions and finding of potential commerical partners offered at the Charité by the patent agent ipal GmbH.undefinedIPAL GmbH is a Berlin-based company whose focus is to market inventions that stem from Berlin graduate schools and institutions. The Charité has a cooperation agreement with ipal.

Technology transfer at the Charité  also supports the creation of spin-off companies.
