European Union

The Framework Programme for Research (Forschungsrahmenprogramme, FP) of the European Union (EU) is the most significant funding-source available within the EU.

The FP has the goal of strengthening the scientific and technological foundation as well  as advancing the international competiveness of European industry. In particular, the FP aims to better coordinate the research projects conducted throughout the EU and integrate them to work together. The current 7th FP has a funding period from 2007- 2013.
