Berlin-Paris Axis

In November 2005, the Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris, Université René Descartes - Paris 5 and the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin signed a cooperation agreement known as the "Berlin-Paris Axis".

Goals of the Berlin-Paris Axis are to:

- develop of joint programs at the university-level.
- promote research cooperations.
- increase communication and exchange in the clinical field.

This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between Germany and France and is in accordance with the education and science ministries of both countries.  Both participating institutes stand to benefit via joint projects in science and technology.

In July 2006, with the support by the French Embassy, the first German-French Summer School in Berlin at the university-level took place. In addition, the Charité continues its long-standing support of doctoral student exchange within the framework of the SOCRATES Program where participants acquire a so-called "double-masters".

Moreover, the Faculty supports current and planned research cooperations and clinical exchange and their corresponding activities and grant applications.
