In case you are admitted for a hospital stay, we recommend that you leave your valuables with your relatives or friends. Should you have valuables on hand, please contact our nursing staff regarding safekeeping. Although our Clinic is monitored, we are unable to prevent all thefts. Therefore, please remember to lock your cabinet in your hospital room and take the key with you when you leave your room. Please also refer to the posted information from the Berlin Police.
At the Campus Virchow-Klinikum, Oststraße 3, visiting children between the ages of 2 and 6 years old can be looked after in our daycare center from Monday through Friday between 2 pm and 7 pm (maximum 4 hours). For further information, please call: t: +49 30 8179 9165
Presently, because this service is not available at the Campus Mitte or the Campus Benjamin Franklin, the daycare center at the Campus Virchow-Klinikum also accepts children visiting patients of the other 2 campi.
The non-denominational hospital volunteer organization in cooperation with the “Green Helpers“ ("Grünen Helfern") provide a visitors’ service for patients of the Charité Campi Mitte and Virchow-Klinikum to provide assistance in personal, social, and family matters. These volunteers can be identified by their light-green uniforms and help in various ways- for example, they can run small errands, serve as an escort for a walk around the campus, or simply offer an open ear for worries and fears. If you are interested in this service, please ask the ward nurse or call the Green Helpers directly at:
The Campus Benjamin Franklin offers a patient escort service (Patientenbegleitdienst). A flyer with more information is available on the campus.
