Here you can follow the progress of the building measures which are currently underway on the Charité Campus Mitte.

Charité Campus-Klinik

A 4-storey Charité Campus-Klinik is undergoing construction in the centre of the Campus Charité Mitte to be ready by the middle of 2013. As a key project in the Charité master plan, the multi-storey building will be thoroughly renovated between 2013 and 2016, receiving a new façade and being expanded with a new building for the operations and intensive care units. In order to maintain the clinical operations in this period, the areas affected there have to be relocated to the Charité Campus-Klinik.

Inpatient multi-storey building (Bettenhochhaus)

As part of the master plan, the inpatient multi-storey building situated on the Campus Charité Mitte, which became operational in 1982, will undergo a thorough renovation between 2013 and 2016 and receive thereby a new façade.

In the place of the present teaching and congress building located to the east of the inpatient multi-storey building, there will be a new building for the central operations area, the main intensive care area and the emergency rooms, including an entrance for bed-ridden patients.

CharitéCrossOver (CCO) Medical Faculty Teaching and Research Centre

Between the historical Children’s Clinic and the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology on land steeped in tradition, a building has been constructed, in which the focus will be on the preclinical research and teaching fields. At the same time, the Charité Excellence Initiative’s successful cluster "NeuroCure" will find outstanding conditions here. As a master plan project, work was started at the end of May 2009 with the demolition of the old building, and the new building was opened for the start of the 2012/2013 winter semester.

Construction period: 2009 to 2012
