
On the campus Benjamin Franklin a new stroke unit (special station for stroke patients) what furnished in direct connection with the stroke research MRI with 12 monitor beds for the intensive supervision of stroke patients. A central supervision unit and an examination space for the Duplex-Sonographie are integrated into the new station.
The intensive station beds meet the highest modern standards and make possible for example, long-term ECG monitoring and continuous monitoring of brain power dissipation.
All together, 25 beds are available on the station for stroke patients.

After completion of a 12-month construction time; in October, 2010 converted station 44 is put into operation as an interdisciplinary intensive care unit and recovery station with 30 beds
The measure was financed with 3 million Euros funded by the economic recovery plan II, as well as with another 3 million Euros from the Charité. Since 1969 the new intensive care unit brings together intensive care units and recovery stations 60 and 61 located in the surgical department and offers substantially improved conditions for intensive-medical therapy in pleasant and technically demanding new rooms. Also organizationally, an important innovation was introduced: to the CharitéCentren 10 for stomach medicine, intestinal medicine, nephritic medicine and metabolism medicine and 7 - Anästhesiologie, OP management and intensive medicine will pursue this interdisciplinary intensive care unit together in the future.
An essential prerequisite for the planned rehabilitation of the operations division of the Benjamin Franklin hospital is satisfied with the opening of the new station 44.
The move of the IOP stations 60 and 61 make room for the renewal of the Operations Division. The renovation, in sections, of the operating theatres as well as the rebuilding of the core zone is planned to provide pre- and postoperative holding areas.
