In 2007 the Charité became the first University Medical Center in Germany to be simultaneously certified as a "Family-Friendly Enterprise" and a "Family-Friendly University". This entails the obligation to make studies and work more compatible with family responsibilities within the next three years.
Hospital staff will soon be able to utilize the flexible child care service already available to faculty employees. These are only a few of the measures planned. Certification not only enhances the Charité’s attractiveness for students and staff but also makes it easier to attest aspects like child care services and equal opportunities on applications for third-party funding.
To find out more about goals and measures of this audit, please take a look at our Basic Certificate. For further questions, please to contact our Counsellor for Women’s Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Inken Köhler.
With the aim to improve the position of the women in the Charité at all levels a commission was formed for Women's Support. Learn more about Women’s Support on their homepage.
