Input file format

The sequence may be in any ASCII format including GENBANK-format. It needs to be stored in a file with the extension ``.SEQ''. WORD-documents must be exported as DOS-text with line breaks. Characters other than ``A'', ``a'', ``T'', ``t'', ``C'', ``c'', ``G'' or ``g'' and ``>'', ``<'', ``%'', square brackets, backslash, slash, ``*'', ``{``, ``}'' or ``#'' are ignored by the program. The ``>''-, ``<''- and ``%''-signs are used by TGGE-PRIMER to memorize the primer binding sites. The four characters ``*'', ``{``, ``}'' or ``#'' are mapped onto the x-axis of the melting diagrams. We used them to mark the positions of mutations, intron/exon boundaries and restriction sites. E. g. three positions of mutations are marked by asterisks in the screen shots. Comments are preceded by a slash.
