From
BMEP to IALS ...
In
the Academic Year 1999-2000, we celebrated the twentieth anniversary
of the BMEP. Therefore this issue honors the administration and faculty
of the
|
|
Medizinische
Hochschule Hannover
|
| for
its support since the inception of the BMEP in 1979. Over the intervening
years, a total of more than 1350 students from Germany and the United States
have been assisted in participating in a transatlantic experience. Of this
group more than 550 advanced students in combined MD/PhD programs are now
in leading positions in academia and industry. |

|
With the
founding of the IALS (International Academy of the Life Sciences), we
are committed to our conviction that the lifesciences will be the leading
discipline in the 21st century. Thus within the next year the IALS will
initiate a M.Sc. program in
|
|
International
Management of the Life Sciences.
|
| This
will serve to meet tomorrow's demand for decision makers who understand
increasingly relevant political, social, and economic context in the international
landscape. |
| The
IALS School of Management will offer an eleven month cross cultural program
to prepare graduate students as well as postgraduates in the lifesciences
to qualify for leadership in their respective fields. In addition, we hope
to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, managers, and CEO's from high-tech companies
and governmental or municipal officials responsible for economic development. |
